I had my Lasik Surgery with Dr. Melki approximately a month ago. For Starters, I now have 20/15 vision after having a -8.00 diopters. The procedure was essentially a much longer version of a glaucoma test.
There was some general irritation and dryness for a couple days, but nothing more than an inconvenience. I would say the worst part was having to wear silly clear plastic eye patches for the first day.
I will say that I agree with other reviewers that the bedside manner is not great at any point in the process. When you go in for a consultation, you are literally dragged from room to room with several waits in the waiting room inbetween. They give out free consultations, which means they probably only convert a small portion of those free consultations into actual surgeries. It can be frustrating, but rest assured that the reason they’re so matter of fact about it is because they perform the procedure literally dozens of times a week.
At the end of the day, as other people have mentioned, if you have concerns, voice them, they will give you honest answers. If you want someone to hold your hand throughout the process, this may not be the place for you. If you want a consumate staff of professionals who’ve seen everything get the job done, this is the place to go.
It was also much cheaper than the other places I’ve found in the area.
