I just had my procedure performed by Dr. Villazon yesterday, and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome.
I am a surgeon myself, so I depend on great eyesight daily. Without my contact lenses, I would not be able to see whether my scalpel was on your nose or your ear. My eyes were bad. I dedicated many hours of researching each Lasik facility around Boston before deciding on TLC. Truthfully, it finally came down to the reviews I read on Yelp that brought me into their office, and the experience I had at that first appointment that made me go forward with the surgery.
I wish I could list the names of everyone that I encountered, because the entire clinic staff was fantastic. However, there is no Lasik-type surgery to sharpen memory so I forgot everyone’s name. I do remember Dr. Chia at my initial visit. She was professional, personable and very knowledgeable. She was the element of my first visit that made me feel that I was definitely at the right place to get Lasik surgery done.
The procedure was fascinating. I lay on a padded table between two UFO-looking machines. All I had to do was lay there and stare at lights. The team was very calming and reassuring the whole time. Dr. Villazon had a very calming and reassuring voice and explained that things were looking good as he performed the procedure. I was impressed that I could see as soon as I got off the table. Fuzzy around the edges, but I could read things far away.
That night, I felt the stinging, burning sensation that they told me to expect. Not pleasant, but nothing major. I slept well, despite having goggles taped to my face, and I woke up with no pain at all. My vision was just mildly blurry, but I could see everything around the room just fine.
I went to work today, 14 hours after the surgery, and I am seeing my patients already. I intentionally did not schedule any surgeries this week, but I feel like I could perform them if I needed to.
Bottom line, I am so happy that I had Lasik performed, and I am very pleased that I had it done with Dr. Villazon at TLC, and I’m glad I had Dr. Chia for the workup. They have a great staff and a great facility.
